As the summer sun warms the beaches and families indulge in ice cream, it’s the perfect time to
share how we at Devoteam MCloud deliver Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) with infrastructure as
code, and where Nerdio fits into our delivery model.

A Scoop of Innovation with Azure Virtual Desktop

Just like choosing a single flavor of ice cream often leads to adding a second or third scoop, a
AVD delivery can consist of a plain scope of vanilla (pun intended), relying on the existing
foundation, we often see that it is most likely a need to bring in complementary technologies for
a superior customer experience, hence more scopes.

Our Proven Framework: Cloud Enabler

At Devoteam, we’ve developed the Cloud Enabler framework, or as I like to call it, the scope of
chocolate, which includes a comprehensive toolbox of assessments and workshops leading to
informed decisions for implementing not only AVD but also underlying infrastructure like
landing zones, identity etc. These decisions are then translated into code in a Devoteam enhanced
version of Microsoft’s AVD Landing Zone accelerator, tailored to customer needs with added
functionality developed by our team and are designed for repeatability as a true Infrastructure as
Code (IAC) implementation.

Our structured delivery model ensures active customer participation throughout the project,
aiming for self-sufficiency upon completion. This approach is visualized in the graphic below.

When customers lack the resources or desire to manage IAC post-implementation, Nerdio steps
in as the scoop of strawberry flavor on top. Nerdio simplifies management with a unified
console, application management, cost optimization, automation, auto-scaling, and more,
reducing the need to develop and maintain new code as demands changes.

Implementing Nerdio Enterprise Manager

Devoteam ensures that Nerdio Enterprise Manager is implemented seamlessly, aligning with
customer needs and facilitating knowledge transfer as we do in all our Cloud Enabler projects
before we move on to our next challenge.
